Breakfast was excellent and the service was good, and the owner is friendly. The location is okay, but the area felt less secure than the other places we visited. It would take a lot of maintenance to bring this place up to five stars, and the owner knows that. For the price, it’s a reasonable option.

Erika went out of her way to get the key to me before check-in, which helped a lot. I had a brief but wonderful stay in a clean, homely place with a comfortable bed. Breakfast from Erika and her A team was delicious. I’ll be back!

I called Mandalay guest house through the reservation centre to book for a guest. I don’t know whether the owner or manager answered, but she was extremely rude. She asked if I knew what time it was, said office hours were, I think, 07h00 to 19:30 and that she was in bed asleep. She also said they were fully booked without asking when the reservation was for. I’ve worked in tourism for 20 years and have sent lots of people over the years...
