Scallop Guest Lodge

A lovely, very clean guesthouse in an amazing location, with a fantastic bed. At breakfast, though, staff waited almost 20 minutes before asking whether we wanted a cooked meal. It almost felt as if they were delaying so we'd decline. They should ask as soon as guests sit down, which would be more efficient.

The location is lovely, and the staff are friendly, but the toiletries were disappointing. The second night we had no hot water, there were no tissues, and the soap dispensers were almost empty. They didn't refill the water at the coffee station or take out the rubbish after servicing the room. We told management, but haven't had a response.

Our host Richard was fantastic and even got us reservations at some great restaurants. We walked over to Periwinkle lodge for breakfast every morning, where Richard doubles as a master chef contestant ;-) The rooms at Scallop Lodge are spacious and well appointed, and each has its own secluded garden. We loved the outdoor shower, the living area, and the pool. Robberg Beach is only a short walk away. All in all, a top-class experience and highly recommended!

The rooms were neat and clean, and the staff were super professional. The shared indoor and outdoor spaces have a very tidy, eclectic look. It's a beautiful lodge, with the comforts you'd expect from accommodation of this calibre. If you also want a view, try their Periwinkle lodge, with its more exquisite layout and decor, infinity pool, and the beach across the road.
