Pongola Country Lodge

The rooms were old and outdated, and the shower pressure was very low in the morning. I complained throughout the day. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and most were harsh or annoyed when I genuinely asked for help, including the receptionist and the chefs in the kitchen. Only Nqobile (waiter) and the security guards were friendly and helpful. The whole place felt like a mess and a waste of money. They should consider closing if they aren’t serious about customer care.

I’ve stayed here twice and got rude treatment both times. The service was extremely poor, from management through to the lady at reception. Stay at your own risk.

The game reserve nearby was the highlight for me. The guided tours gave me a chance to connect with nature and see wildlife in its natural habitat. Around Pongola Country Lodge, the natural setting is peaceful, and the lodge is beautifully designed, mixing comfort and elegance. The staff were friendly and attentive, shared local insights, and went out of their way to make the stay memorable. My accommodation was immaculate and had thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. I also really enjoyed the delicious meals with local flavors and ingredients. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired, and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend it for a peaceful retreat.

The rooms are nice and clean, but ohhhh, cockroaches 🤦‍♀️.
