Amorus Waterkloof ridge

I stayed 4 nights, from Tue 25 Nov to Saturday 29 Nov 2025. Sammy, Desire, and two other staff members were professional, friendly, courteous, and supportive. The facilities, though, were very disappointing. Power cuts lasted for hours when the electricity token ran out, and guests waited hours for service to return. This happened daily. On one occasion, our towels were taken for washing and we didn't get replacements for 24 hours. Some rooms were mold invested and need proper cleaning. The wash hand basins in my room were badly cracked and a disaster waiting to happen. I wanted to attach photos to support my points, but there was no way to do that in this review. If Amoris Waterkloof upgraded the facilities, it could be a fantastic place to stay.

I booked in November 2025 for the 2nd of Jan 2025, checking out on the 3rd of Jan, and told them I would check in late at 1am on the 3rd. I was coming from out of the country and needed the room for just a few hours. When I contacted them on the 2nd, they said they had no space, despite my booking a month in advance. They put me at risk and were completely unapologetic and unprofessional. Luckily, I found accommodation nearby. I hate unprofessional businesses, and this one takes the cup. I should have listened to the disappointing reviews on Bookings.com. Book at your own risk.

This place isn't as advertised. There's only a small bar fridge in the room, with no utensils, microwave, or teabags. You have to leave the room, go up the stairs, and find the kitchen behind reception. A plate I took from the cupboard was still filthy, and the old utensils don't even match. It feels like a real backyard two penny hay penny place. They won't see me or my money again.

My booking was for Brooklyn, but I was told they had no space and had to go to Waterkloof. Nobody apologized or took responsibility. They just said there was nothing they could do. The service at Waterkloof was just as horrible. The room smelled bad, the bath tap didn't work, the sheets were dirty, and the furniture was broken. When I asked for WiFi, they said my room couldn't connect because the router was broken. There was nothing pleasant about the whole experience. If I hadn't been far from home, I would have taken my money and left. Bookings.com and the Owner need to do better. This was ridiculous and disappointing 😞
