I stayed for three nights on a business trip from Dubai and would strongly recommend this guesthouse. The owners, Nelia & Koos, have been there for 20 years and were wonderfully hospitable. Breakfast was lovely, with eggs, bacon, sausage and toast to choose from, plus fresh fruit and coffee. They’ve also invested in a backup generator, so guests can still use power and WiFi during the two-hour mains shutdown periods, something few guesthouses in the area had done. The guesthouse is in a lovely, secure area. My room was spacious and bright, with lots of windows, tea, coffee and rusks, a fridge, a large comfortable bed and a big bathroom with a good shower. You’d be hard pressed to find much better.

Oxnead was recommended when we needed a B&B near Pretoria East Hospital, and it worked out well. There are rooms upstairs and downstairs. Breakfast costs extra, but it was good and plenty.

We had a lovely garden for our little dogs, and they were welcome to come along. The private entrance and great location made it feel like home, and the host was there if we needed anything. We felt very safe and would happily recommend the place. Thanks, Debbie and Corne, we'd like to come back.

When we needed to stay longer, there were no vacancies, but the hosts found us another place nearby, arranged an early check-in, and even offered to drive our mother there while we were held up in town. Earlier, they'd also changed our tyre after we got a puncture. Their personal service went far beyond what we'd expect, and the prices were so low. Wonderful people. God bless them always.
