We really appreciated Willie putting us in an upgraded room for the last two nights. He made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The neighborhood is great, with a few restaurants and a nice grocery store within walking distance. A wonderful place to stay in Pretoria, and thanks, Willie, for doing such a great job.

The location is great, close to restaurants, and the staff and management were friendly. Breakfast was good, and the Wi-Fi and TV remotes worked without trouble. With a bit of care and effort, this place could be good, even great. There were some problems, though. The booking phone communication was poor. Room 8 upstairs was very hot because its aircon wasn't working properly. The shower was a mess, with a loose head fitting and a pipe stretched over the bathtub, and it flooded the bathroom. Bottled water in the rooms is charged for. When I called reception about the aircon, the person who came had a T-shirt full of holes, which wasn't very presentable. I was moved to another room where the aircon cooled, but it was noisy. The bathroom smelled and wasn't well ventilated, and the toilet seat was completely loose from its hinges.

We had breakfast outside on the terrace, and the receptionist was really lovely. The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom was even more gorgeous. Definitely going back.

Our group of eight had ordered breakfast the day before, but the kitchen seemed to have only one person working. They prepared meals for two at a time, so we couldn't eat together even though we were at the same table. My wife and I waited 55 minutes, by which time everyone else had eaten. What arrived wasn't what we'd ordered. When we asked, the waiter went to get the order to prove us wrong, then found out it hadn't been read. The bill also took over 15 minutes to sort out for one room because our deposit hadn't been deducted. There was no manager available, and nobody asked if they could help. The room's ceiling was peeling in places and the shower had black mould. I'd stayed here before, but my company had handled the bill and breakfast then, and I'd never eaten there.

We found this quaint place at 2:00 am after a horrific hotel stay, and they kindly made room for us. It felt very welcoming.
