We were six, but the apartment we'd booked had been given to other people. We had to take a smaller place meant for four and weren't refunded the difference for the three-bedroom apartment. Four women ended up sharing one bedroom, and two had to sleep on the sponge. The rooms weren't clean, there were no utensils, and the water was cold. One toilet leaked, so we had to mop the floor after every use. We kept having to ask for basics like toilet paper, bin liners, extra plates, and cups. We'd asked before booking whether we could braai and were told it was allowed if we brought our own stand. But once we arrived with the stand and prepared meat, we were told braais weren't allowed. We didn't enjoy our stay at Chapel Apartment at all.

The unit was in such disappointing condition that, after unloading our luggage, our group of six decided to leave. There was no hot water, and the stairwell felt unsafe. The owner, who isn't based in South Africa, agreed to refund us. We had to pack everything back up and arrange a booking at another venue.

We were left out in the pouring rain after being double-booked, with nowhere to go. The caretakers were rude, threw our bags aside, and offered no help or compassion. The owner couldn't be reached, so there was no support or solution, and weeks later our refund still hadn't arrived. It was a horrible experience from start to finish. This place is a joke, and they clearly don't care about guests or basic human decency. If you value your money, time, and dignity, stay away and book somewhere else.

They double-booked us, and it's been over two months without our money being returned. They keep promising payment, but nothing happens, and they blame booking.com.

The privacy here is a real attraction in itself, and it's such a peaceful place to relax. Chapel Luxury Apartments has modern rooms with character, and the staff are the best, so super friendly.
