I booked one night at The Afropolitan and ended up staying almost two weeks. The cozy rooms, lovely grounds, careful upkeep, and small thoughtful touches made it feel like home. In the heart of Randburg, Johannesburg, it brings modern comfort together with South African hospitality. A big part of what made the stay so special was manager Charles Moyo, aka Charlie. He was kind and dedicated, anticipated what I needed, shared useful recommendations for local attractions in Johannesburg, and quickly helped whenever something came up. His care made me feel genuinely cherished. The most memorable moment came during the festive season, when the owner generously invited us to Christmas lunch with family and friends at the venue. The food was mouthwatering, there was laughter everywhere, and the warmth made me feel like family rather than a stranger. I'll treasure those memories. The Afropolitan has outstanding facilities, personal service, and a strong community spirit. I'd recommend it for a business trip, romantic getaway, family holiday, or any occasion. I'm already looking forward to returning. Five stars don't feel like enough.

The poolside area and vegetation are stunning, and the lodge would also make a great, family-friendly function venue. It's tucked away on a cul-de-sac, so it feels private, while still being close to all the Joburg hotspots. The rooms meet the standard you'd expect of a 3-star guest house. Mr Charlie, Pamela, and the housekeeping ladies were kind and helpful.

I had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly, and my room was spacious and very clean. The garden is beautiful, and we got some really nice pictures there. I'll definitely return.

The cleaners were very friendly, but they seemed scared and uncomfortable. There's also a short cleaning staff, and the place is noisy. The bedding is old and torn, and the trees around the property need cutting back. I don't recommend staying here. The owner seems focused only on money and doesn't care about the place. He treats his staff like trash and doesn't want to solve problems at the guest house. When guests complain, he tells his staff he doesn't want to talk to anyone.
