There's construction happening on the property, so there was dust and noise. My room was dusty too, and dust came out of the air conditioner. The place looked outdated and quite different from its online photos. The chair in my room was broken, which felt unsafe and should have been spotted before a guest was given the room. I checked in only three hours ago, and I'm already disappointed. I ordered sweet potato fries but got plain Irish potatoes instead, and was told that was all they had. The burger didn't taste fresh either.

The restaurant food was lovely, and the chef took time to explain things. Staff were friendly throughout, from reception helping with luggage and giving me extra information to the restaurant team. Even with the renovations, I had a great time and went to the pool with someone accompanying me. I'd recommend the hotel and come back. Please prioritize the gym and add a bar fridge in the room. Thanks to the best staff at Premier Hotel The Richards!

Thirty years ago we got married at Premier Hotel The Richards, and last night we celebrated our 30th anniversary in that same venue. The management and staff were friendly and went out of their way to make the evening special. It was lovely to relive the day and make new memories. Our room was comfortable and spotless, and we enjoyed the buffet dinner. The experience felt consistent with what we remembered from 30 years ago, and the hotel has kept up its standards. We're looking forward to seeing what the upcoming renovations bring. We highly recommend it for its service and hospitality.

At R1890 per person per night, with “Premier” in the name, I expected a certain standard of rooms and service. Instead, this was a shocking, sad experience, and I won't stay here again. At check-in, the receptionist kept arguing that breakfast wasn't included. Reception called us later to say it was included, but gave no apology. At 22:00 they called asking us to return the hairdryer. I had to walk it back because they have just one for everyone to share. Also, flushing the toilet at night leaves it running noisily, enough to keep you awake for the rest of the night. If you have money to waste, check in here.

I booked room 321. It was stuffy, and there was a lot of dust under the bed. Drunk women made noise through the night. On the day I checked out, I posted pictures of the dusty room. At the entrance, the grass and trash made the place look abandoned. I had to ask the man at the gate if it was really the establishment, and was shocked when he said yes. I wonder how this place got a four-star rating.
