Silver Birch Bed & Breakfast

We’re from Piet Retief and needed a Bed and Breakfast because of an unfortunate situation. Since Silver Birch Bed and Breakfast is wheelchair friendly, we booked there. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and Chad was so helpful and friendly. His family and parents can be proud of him. We were lucky to find such good service, and if we need a place again, we’d happily book there. Thank you, and well done. Keep it up.

The main drawback was the noise from the nearby student house. Music and partying carried on into the early hours. In the room, the large cushions could give you neck pain, the aircon wasn’t working during our stay, and there were no towels for guests. The rooms themselves were clean and tidy, with a small fridge and DSTV, and they weren’t bad for the price. Service was polite and friendly, and breakfast the next morning was good: eggs, bacon, sausage and toast, with cereal and yogurt if you wanted them. For the cost, it was an okay stay, though a couple of things need fixing.

I’m here for business, so getting a good night’s sleep matters a lot. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were absolutely heavenly. The room was spacious, neat and had what I needed for an overnight stay. The owner and host was friendly and very helpful. I had a really pleasant stay.

The scrambled eggs at breakfast were amazing, honestly 10/10. The bed was comfortable and the room was okay, though I did find a cockroach by the fridge, which was gross. What stayed with me most was how condescending and unkind the host was when I arrived. He was incredibly unfriendly at first, which made a bad first impression. In hospitality, you can’t afford to treat guests that way just because you’re having a bad day.
