We only managed to stay because the kitchen staff were friendly and helpful. Our group had 21 people spread across 7 of the 11 units, and finding last minute accommodation for that many over Christmas would've been tough. This was one of the most atrocious stays in my 33 years of travel, if not the worst. The manager lives on the property, and my suggestion is to drop the attitude, stop lying, and get this establishment back on the cards.

The place we found wasn't what we'd expected from the page, including unit no 8 and the area around it. Seeing a squatter camp close to the resort made us feel unsafe. Sonja welcomed us warmly, thank you for that. Still, WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND eagle creek resort sabie. The resort needs attention. After the bad experience, LekkerSlaap helped us find suitable accommodation. Thank you.

I travel for business every week, and the food and people are why I only eat at this restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff are magnificent, and Sonja the Manager is so friendly that you feel right at home. The pool was lovely and clean, too, and it’s a great place to unwind before heading home. It's pet friendly, so I'll definitely book a weekend here to relax.

The noise ruined our chance to enjoy the pool or get a good night's rest. There was a dog in a camp next to our unit barking throughout the stay, and Laura told me it was hers. Staff were constantly going up and down to the receptionist in unit 9, and day visitors were moving around the units. A staff member also stayed in the unit attached to ours, so I could hear every word of the ongoing radio conversations. It felt like working at the lodge, not getting away from everyday noise and busyness. We returned for our anniversary after two years because our previous stay had been AMAZING, but this time was deeply disappointing. Everything had gone backwards. What was meant to be a relaxing, romantic weekend left me heartbroken, especially after driving all the way from my town. I regret paying for this and will never recommend Eagles Creek after such a terrible experience. There had been a funeral at the restaurant earlier that morning, and those people had left by the time we arrived. Soon after we settled in, they began coming back, with around 13 vehicles full of day visitors. They partied in the parking area, drunk and loud, playing ABSOLUTE DESTURBING loud music and screaming at each other. This wasn't the guests staying overnight. It started at 14:30pm and continued until 23:00. I had to call Monique to ask management, who were nowhere to be seen, to deal with their inappropriate behaviour. Since I was in unit 8, Neil came out to calm things down after Monique helped, but as soon as he turned away, they started again. The braai setup was missing steak knives, leaving us with only a big bread knife. We called to ask about an outside light because we could see one and thought the switch might be in the unit next door. We were told it only comes on during loadshedding. Later, Laura finished work, came into the unit beside ours, switched on her lights, and our braai area lit up too. By then we'd already eaten. There was also a R400 cash key deposit we hadn't realized we needed. Laura, the young woman who checked us in and out and said she'd just started there, sent us all the way back into town to draw cash. We were told it would be returned in cash at checkout if nothing was broken or wrong after inspection. No inspection ever happened. Laura simply took the key and handed back the money, so the drive was for nothing. I thought we'd be welcomed by Sonja, the actual host and manager, but we never saw her during our stay. She didn't even introduce herself as host. That felt very unethical. Thank you to Monique for handling my booking professionally and for dealing professionally with my angry phone call after I left Eagles Creek.

We slept well, and the rooms were clean and tidy. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, with friendly waiter Rebecca, and the food was great. Prices for food and alcohol were very reasonable. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed. Reception called Sonja, and she came over within a few minutes to open even though they were supposed to open later. She apologized so much and treated us with real respect. She made our visit pleasant, and we didn't want to leave. I'd recommend Eagle creek for an overnight stay or a few days.
