Unit 21 seemed newly renovated and was lovely, with very comfortable beds and a reasonable price. Everything was close by, and we even saw hippos walking through the main street. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

Great place to stay, if you don’t have noisy children. A woman knocked hard on our door telling us to keep quiet. If you’re not a social drinker, no alcohol is allowed on the premises, and smoking has to be at least 10 meters from the building. You also have to keep hippos in mind, as they might be in the garden. No loud talking, apparently you have to whisper. On departure day, people stood outside our door while we were abruptly reminded the unit had to be vacated by 10:00. No extra time was allowed. We also lost electricity on our last night and had total darkness, with no backup lights, so bring your own torches. No pets are allowed, but the premises are overloaded with hungry cats.

There’s a hippo asleep in the garden, which is quite something, and the kids had a great time in the pool. It’s unheated, though, so winter swimming takes some nerve. The apartment is spacious, lovely, and comfortable, and we got the warmest welcome we’ve had in South Africa so far. The jetty at the bottom of the grounds looks over the estuary and is a nice extra. We’d happily stay again at this price.

Sari was such a lovely, helpful host, and even gave us a little keepsake to remember the stay. The apartment was very clean, with a nice view of the river and backyard. In the morning, a hippo wandered through the backyard, which was so cool to see. Great location!

The monkeys kept us entertained, and the kids spent hours enjoying the pool. We stayed two nights at the Bridge apartments in early January 2019, and the place was neat and clean. Being right in the centre of town was a big plus. Thanks for a great stay, we’ll be back 👍
