I came for a four-day sporting event at Crawford School, and this place was ideally suited to that. I didn't have a car, but the ten-minute walk through Lonehill Park was lovely and felt very safe. The route also takes you past the shopping centre, where you can get food, drinks or groceries.

The ladies treated my friends and me like royalty, served us a delicious breakfast and made the stay so pleasant. The place is amazing. It felt like we'd gotten out of Jhb for a breath of fresh air.

The Wi-Fi was perfect, and the air conditioner worked well. Breakfast was good, though it could be improved. I loved staying here. It feels comfortable and homely, in a quiet neighborhood, with a warm atmosphere. The staff are cheerful and hospitable. I recommend it if you like modern city living alongside Victorian style. It really is a home away from home.

The pictures don't show how lovely this guesthouse really is. It's clean, peaceful and elegant, with an amazing garden. From the owner and managers to all the staff, everyone has been excellent. The people looking after me are warm, friendly and patient, and make sure I'm comfortable and safe. They fully accommodate me. I've decided to stay here long term whenever I'm in JHB, and I'm a loyal guest now. I'd recommend it to anyone reading this.

Lourie Lodge is so conveniently located in the Fourways area, and I honestly wouldn't stay anywhere else. The staff are the best I've ever dealt with, unbelievably caring and attentive to what we needed. They even helped with an effort to change a stranger's life, supporting me and my company as we tried to get someone off the streets and give them a way to build a life. Knowing there are still such amazing people out there brings tears to my eyes. Lourie Lodge has heart and compassion. Go, Lourie Lodge!
