Marion Lodge

Spotlessly clean, peaceful, and the staff are incredibly friendly. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, Marion Lodge is the place. Five stars don't feel like enough. I'm exceptionally happy, thank you so much.

Breakfast was delicious and had everything we wanted. We also found the rooms really cozy and comfortable, and the reception staff were so kind. They made us feel right at home. We had a wonderful stay and I'd definitely recommend it.

The location and area are nice, but the room was dirty and the sheets were filthy and hadn't been changed. The toilet in room 12A wasn't working properly, so we had to ask for another room. I was told Agoda had selected low-cost rooms. Housekeeping seems to be a problem. I booked through Agoda the night before and it was already late, otherwise I wouldn't have stayed there. I won't consider coming back. Please sort out the housekeeping.

The staff were polite and helpful, but that didn't make up for the condition of the place. Our bedroom carpet was dirty and stained, the pillowcases were marked, and the linen felt poor quality. The shower light didn't work, the floor tiles didn't match, and electrical tape was holding the bathroom mirror together. There was also a noisy party in the shared lounge and dining area, so relaxing in nearby rooms wasn't possible. I booked Marion Lodge in Sandton expecting the advertised four-star, exclusive bed and breakfast standard. Instead, the décor, cleanliness, and upkeep fell well short. I think the rating and glowing online endorsements are misleading. I wouldn't recommend this place, and believe its accreditation and promotional claims should be reviewed.
