Penelope was a wonderful host. There were fresh flowers all around the guest house and in our room, a really nice touch. The room had a view of the mountains and was well equipped, with air conditioning that we appreciated in the warm weather. The shared kitchen was well equipped too. Breakfast had fresh fruit, yogurt, meats, cheeses and cooked options, and it was delicious. Many good restaurants are just a short drive away. A lovely place to end our trip to South Africa.

Penelope clearly puts a lot of care into hosting, and it made for a very comfortable stay. We had lovely views from both the room and balcony. I’d only miss being able to do my own laundry if I were staying for a month, though laundry is available as a service. I wholeheartedly recommend the place.

The four guest rooms are upstairs, with a shared kitchen and an honesty bar, and ours was spacious and spotless. Penelope was an excellent host, and breakfast was delicious. The guest house is outside the busy centre, but it takes only 10-15 minutes to get there by car or Uber. We’d be glad to come back.

We spent four nights here in December 2025 and had such a good time. The garden was stunning, and we’re still thinking about the delicious fruit at the breakfast buffet. Penelope and her team were incredibly kind and ready to help. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and the neighborhood felt safe and quiet while still being close to Stellenbosch and the vineyards. The view was great too. If we travel to SA again, we’ll definitely return.
