The reception lady was friendly and made us feel at home quickly, and breakfast was good, especially the excellent croissants. I’d visit again, but not in the room we booked. We had one of the Honeymoon rooms, which are both loft rooms. The room was basic but clean, and the air conditioning barely kept up. It was above the kitchen, so staff woke us early while preparing breakfast. They were very loud, and we could hear every word, or shout, from the kitchen. The loft isn’t suited to tall people, and the steep outside staircase badly needs repair. Some wooden steps moved underfoot, which felt dangerous. I wouldn’t stay in a loft room again.

The staff were very friendly and breakfast was delicious, but I was disappointed by the facilities for the price. The mini fridge was dirty and smelled bad. My husband’s bed was broken, horrible, and uncomfortable. Getting to the room wasn’t ideal either. Thank you.

Breakfast was very good. The honeymoon suite is lovely, but the roof and doors are quite low. I’m tall and bumped my head several times, which wasn’t pleasant. If you’re tall, ask for one of the ground floor rooms.

The rooms were highly unsuitable, and one smelled strongly of damp. We weren’t offered a choice about staying in them before payment was taken, and the hotel has refused a refund. I find that unethical, especially since we rebooked at the same time and they weren’t holding rooms for us. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone staying in Stellenbosch. They didn’t have our booking, despite my email confirmation, and asked us to book again at reception. The rooms they showed us weren’t suitable and didn’t match what was on their site. They were spread out across the road from the main hotel instead of being together. Getting into the driveway gate, front garden, and room meant opening about three locks. Electric fencing around each room section made us feel the place was insecure rather than safe. Two rooms were down a parking lot behind garages and along a back driveway. Another was reached by a dark, narrow alley with very uneven paving, a huge tree in the middle, and roots pushing through the path. It was dangerous.
