Tsitsikhaya Lodge

We didn’t stay here, just came to eat, but I’d definitely return and recommend it. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions, and it was reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our first dishes arrived just 20 minutes after we ordered.

We only ate at the restaurant, as we weren’t sure where else to leave a review. The site was beautiful and well kept, with lovely landscaping and water features. Inside, the restaurant had a nice feel, tasteful decor, lovely flowers, and lighting. Service was a little chaotic and uneven on a fairly busy night with young families, though our server, Nesh, did her best. All three dishes we ordered, grilled calamari, lamb stew, and ostrich, were excellent, with distinctive, memorable spices and sauces. It was my first time trying ostrich, and I’m glad I had it here.

We came for a couples massage. The spa is in a peaceful setting, separate from both the lodge and the accommodation. Our masseuses were amazing, and the staff were welcoming. The service was good overall.

We went for a quiet lunch, but the service wasn’t great. First they were out of Coke, which was odd but not a deal breaker. Then, after four of us ordered beef burgers, the waitress said there was no beef left. We changed our order to three calamari and chips, a chicken burger, and pasta. The chicken burger, one calamari, and the pasta arrived, but the other two calamari dishes still hadn’t come by the time everyone else had finished. Nobody told us what was happening, so we decided to leave. Those of us who did eat said the food was nice, but we won’t be back.
