I'm making a formal complaint about the conditions during our stay and the lack of response after I raised these problems. The air-conditioning didn't work at all, and the heat inside was unbearable. A mobile unit was finally brought after three days, but the other guests got only one fan and had to sleep in the lounge to get any cooling. Several advertised essentials were missing or broken. There was no dishwasher, the bathroom sink was blocked, the toilet flush had no cover, the toilet holder was broken, and a hole in the bathtub made it unusable. The main bedroom floor was constantly wet, which was uncomfortable and could be unsafe. I told the caretaker that my husband is disabled. They assured me a ramp would be provided for the small step at the entrance and the medium step at the patio, but it wasn't there when we arrived. We had to buy planks in Umhlanga to make a makeshift ramp. I reported the problems during our stay and was promised a partial refund for the major inconvenience, but it was never processed. Because of the extreme heat and unlivable conditions, we told the caretaker we would leave two days before our stay ended. We couldn't keep the doors and windows open because of the feral monkeys in the area. When I called, the caretaker said he was driving and would call back. More than a month has passed and I still haven't heard from him. Given these serious issues and the refund that was promised but never paid, I want a prompt response and appropriate compensation, and a resolution to this matter.
