Clyde, the unit's contact person, was excellent and went out of his way to sort out problems. We'd met him during a stay in another unit, and he was just as helpful then. But this place isn't good value compared with other units we've stayed in at uMhlanga in the same price range. It was advertised with aircon, though the listing didn't say there's only one small unit in one bedroom. The living room was very warm and unpleasant in December, with summer temperatures over 30°. At R4500 a night, I expected better. We had to close all the blinds to cool the place, which spoiled the view. The fridge-freezer is far too small for six people in a self-catering unit, about the size of a hotel bar fridge, and it doesn't cool properly. Wi-Fi was also too slow for streaming, which kept cutting out. I don't know if the owner's bandwidth was too limited or if it was an outside problem. The bathrooms need updating: old basins and taps, discoloured and scratched toilet seats, and one toilet loose from the floor. Inside the cupboards it was dusty, and some boards were broken. We won't stay again or recommend it. There are better options.
