Beachbreak Holiday Letting

I called this lady to ask about something on booking.com, including whether there were any issues with things like the stove not working. She replied sarcastically, asking if anything in my own home ever breaks, and said she couldn't guarantee anything. She came across as the most arrogant, sarcastic person I've spoken to. I won't support these guys. I'd rather pay extra and go through a hotel. 😆

The resort has a great location, with a 100m walk to the beach and 500m to Bronze Beach. The views are spectacular, the main pool is spacious, and there are plenty of deck chairs for relaxing with cocktails. There's also a kiddies pool with slides that's heated a little, friendly and helpful staff, and a spa well worth visiting. The main frustration is that almost everything shuts at 17h00. Putt-putt, the lap pool and kiddies pool all close then, so you have to leave. It seems to assume guests spend their days at the resort, when many of us go to the beach and want to have fun here afterwards. Instead, you'd need to go to the town center, 1.4km away. There's a "game room," but ping-pong and pool require a cash deposit, and the pool table also takes R2 coins. Almost everything is cash-only and can't be charged to your room. The restaurant is the exception, letting you put it on your room and pay at checkout. Our room also wasn't clean enough. The floor felt dirty as soon as we arrived, and it stayed that way. There was black mold on the shower tiles, which suggests it isn't cleaned regularly. Good location and a nice experience in some ways, but we won't be back to Breakers Resort anytime soon.

We checked in on Thursday afternoon. The rooms look decent, but for a self-catering place the apartment had just one knife and too few pots, which is crazy. Braai facilities aren't available on weekends, and they provided only two rolls of toilet paper for four adults over four days. #room226

Everyone had a great time at Breakers Resort. There's plenty for kids, including a kiddie pool, trampolines, water slides, a play area and a kids club.
