Our stay started with a free upgrade from Bains House because they were having some issues. Then, 24km from Upington, we ran out of petrol. I messaged the manager and got an immediate reply. About an hour later he brought us fuel and drove along to make sure we got there safely. Beautiful accommodation and fantastic service. We'd definitely stay with them again.

We had a nice, restful night and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Parking felt safe too. The pool does need to be cleaned before people can swim in it.

My youngest daughter loved the history book about the Bains Family. It was a lovely educational touch. The owner was friendly and accommodating when our car broke down and we arrived after midnight, though his insistence that we whisper made it hard to communicate. I couldn't hear what he was saying. In our room the kettle was rusty, and there were only two cups and no glasses for the four of us. The TV was only in the double bedroom, which disappointed my daughters since there was nothing to watch in their room.

The place was tidy and had a peaceful feel. The staff were friendly, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Louw and the Moon River and Bains Guest House team have been so helpful and supportive with our unusual requests. We've stayed with them twice, once at each guest house, and we'll definitely book again next time we're in Upington.
