Laaiplek Hotel

The rooms were neat, and we had a lovely river view. Reception and the two women serving breakfast were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is small but delicious, and they bring it to your room. There’s a bar on site, though it closes at 8 pm unless there’s a function. When there is one, hotel guests can’t use the bar and have to find somewhere else to relax in the afternoon. We’d planned a hotel weekend, but there’s no longer a restaurant here, so you have to drive elsewhere to eat. Arriving on the premises, you might think you’ve come to the wrong place, but the hotel itself looks very neat.

We sat at the outdoor bar before lunch and enjoyed the beautiful river view. The Christmas buffet had so much to choose from, and it was laid out really well. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was clean. The meal was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much, 10/10.

For my wife’s birthday on Valentine’s Day, we had great food, cold wine and beers, and a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were wonderful too. We’ll definitely visit again. Deon Leach and Lizzy.

The meals are freshly made and served hot, with plenty of choice. The menu is affordable and portions are generous. We also liked the covered outdoor dining space overlooking the river/ocean. It’s a well-maintained hotel, and the staff are always friendly and ready to help. Our room was spotless, with room service each morning. A great experience.
