Lauren Palace Guest House

I checked in today, after my company made the booking through booking.com. The room is clean and nice, but there’s no air conditioning, kettle or coffee. I had to ask for a fan, and there’s no breakfast. The pool wasn’t very clean and the staff weren’t very friendly. Their profile says air conditioning and breakfast, so don’t believe everything Lauren palace says there. This definitely isn’t a 3 star place, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Maybe booking.com should make an unannounced visit and rate it again. Thanks.

The booking problem was handled terribly. We had reserved for a large group through booking.com, but on the morning of check-in, the owner split us between two venues without telling us. She said long-stay guests had extended, leaving no room for us, and that she had tried to cancel on booking.com the week before but couldn’t because it was too late. Even then, she chose not to tell us. At check-in, we found out she had lied and moved our booking to prioritize a bigger group that had booked after us and was checking in the same day. The second venue was 10 Min away and had terrible online reviews. Our rooms were advertised with TVs and air conditioning, but had neither, and there weren’t any fans. It was incredibly hot. There were shower curtains instead of bathroom doors. Both nights were incredibly noisy, with nearby partying and people out on the streets. The reception lady seemed clueless and was kind of rude. She laughed when we explained the booking issue. The place was sub-par, the service deplorable, and we had a horrible experience. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

The pool area was the highlight, clean and lovely, especially lit up at night. It felt like an exotic palace, and the setting was so serene 💚. This is an intimate, aesthetically pleasing place for pictures, and I’d definitely recommend it. We were greeted by warm, lovely ladies, and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were neat and organized, though cupboard rails were broken or missing, so we couldn’t hang clothes that shouldn’t be wrinkled. 👌

The place is absolutely beautiful, and the owner is a darling. But the female employee, cleaner and admin had a horrible attitude. That woman wa tella maan!!!!
