Beside Still Waters

I spent five months in the loft at beside still waters and really enjoyed it. It’s a short drive along a gravel road just off the N2. The sunrises were beautiful, and waking to the fish eagles calling was a delight. Wilderness and Sedgefield shops are close by, and Kleinkrantz beach is a five-minute drive away.

The lake view is astonishing, with fish eagles circling all the time. The surroundings and gardens are beautifully done, and the accommodation has everything you need and more. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place, and the hosts are so friendly.

The sea is only a five-minute drive away. We spent ten wonderful days in the Loft, where the rooms were spacious, comfortable, pretty and clean. Lovely people, a lovely view, and a lovely stay.

We were a family of eight visiting South Africa from Holland for a few weeks, and stayed at Beside Still Waters from January 12-15. We booked two apartments, the Upper Room and the Cottage, and had such a lovely weekend. Stefaan and Ronelle made us feel at home with personal attention and tips on places to see and things to do. The servant family helped make it all possible too. They welcomed us with homemade rusks, and we could use the washing machine, even though Ronelle couldn’t use her washing lines all weekend because of all our laundry. Stefaan also offered us an umbrella, chairs and a cooler for the beach. We had a fresh, delicious breakfast on Sunday. Ronelle, could you send me the recipe for those delicious quiches? One of us had a birthday that day, and they treated us to a bottle of champagne. It’s a time we’ll never forget. Thank you, Stefaan and Ronelle. Els
