We were welcomed on short notice by the friendliest staff, and the place itself is lovely. The WiFi is great, and there’s a smart TV with Netflix too. Getting there was the problem: the road is awful, and in rainy weather I nearly got stuck in the mud. Still, I’d recommend it.

The hosts made us feel right at home, and the peaceful setting has lovely views over Wilderness and the coast. There’s plenty of birdlife, plus bird hides for keen birdwatchers. The picture shows the nearby “Map of Africa.” A great stop while exploring the Garden Route.

Monica was a kind, helpful host, and our accommodation was clean and lovely, with everything we needed. The mountain and sea views are breathtaking, and the spot is quiet, away from the crowds. We’ll definitely be back.

After staying here several times over about 5 years, I still come away impressed. The owners keep the facilities in great shape and hold them to high standards, and each visit has exceeded what I expect from a holiday home. Hakuna Matata is tucked into the beautiful Wilderness area and makes a wonderful base for enjoying the natural scenery around George. A must-visit for a South African coast holiday.

The beds were amazingly comfortable, and the room was spotless with everything we needed. Our hosts were lovely and quick to answer questions or help out. It’s up on the mountain, but only a short drive to the beach, restaurants, bars, and shops in this beautiful little town.
