Panoramic Blue

The sunrise views were lovely, and one night during loadshedding we watched lightning flash across the mountains. The sun goes down behind the property, so sunsets aren't much to see, but mornings brought five or six kinds of local birds. The view really does feel panoramic. We chose the budget room for three nights to leave more money for local activities, and it still felt like a proper stay. My wife and I first honeymooned in Plettenberg Bay ten years ago, at the now-closed NH Plettenberg Bay. We try to return to the Garden Route each year when we can afford it. The bed was comfortable, even with my bad back, and the thick curtains kept the light out. There's a ceiling fan for warm nights. Water pressure was very good; the wifi was strong, and I measured the fiber at 34mbps up and 10 mbps down late in the evening, decent given the place was full. The TV is oddly placed but works and has all the DSTV premium channels. Mike was friendly and knew the area well. He suggested places to eat and visit, and the unit was cleaned each day while we were out. For a couple planning to eat out or share takeaways, the price seemed right compared with other Garden Route stays we've had. The one drawback is the steep parking, though we've run into that at plenty of places in the bay areas.

The Bay views were lovely, the room was clean, and it did feel like fair value. The hosts were amazing, warm and friendly. Still, even though we were given an upgrade, the room didn't live up to what the website photos led us to expect.

The only thing that took getting used to was the narrow, very steep driveway. The view, though, is breathtaking, and Jean and his wife Sandy were so accommodating and ready to look after what we needed. It's a nicely decorated room at a reasonable price, with genuinely hospitable hosts.

Everything was very clean and tidy, with a high quality bed, sheets and towels. The shower was gorgeous, and even a robe was provided. The hosts were super lovely, but it was a very cold night and the heater was broken. The TV and fridge also weren't working, so we got a small discount. Wifi reception in the upstairs outside room was really poor.
