The Tuscany Guesthouse

The garden was such a lovely place to spend time, with all its plants, a little pool, and a wooden deck looking out to sea. We stayed two nights in the "smallest" room, which suited us just fine. Breakfast was outstanding, and Dirk and Christoph really know how to make guests feel pampered. We loved our stay and will definitely return. Thanks for having us. By the way, the plants seem happy in Germany too 😊

The owners even have a paragliding takeoff in the garden, which is quite something. Our room was modern, clean, cosy, and furnished with new interiors and art objects. We had a fantastic stay, including a stunning breakfast they prepared themselves. We'll be back.

The setting is hard to beat: every room has a balcony, and from ours we could see the Indian Ocean and hear the waves. There’s a spotless pool and a deck with loungers high on the bluff. Inside, the rooms are clean, with fleece robes and blankets for sitting outdoors. The art throughout is thoughtfully chosen, from professional South African and European artists to local vernacular pieces. Breakfast was a whole event. Homemade bread scented the room in the morning, alongside fresh fruit, salsa, sometimes guacamole, cured meats, rye bread with pesto and creme fraiche, feta with onion and lime, cheeses, roasted vegetables, cereal and yoghurt. You can also choose how you’d like your eggs. Christoph and Dirk had useful advice on restaurants and what to order, while giving us plenty of space. I’d seen older reviews mentioning dogs and a musty smell, but that information is out of date. The guesthouse has new management, has been renovated, and there are no animals on the property. This is simply a very good place to stay. I have no stake or investment in it.

We’ve stayed at the Tuscany twice now and would happily recommend it. It’s peaceful, the views are beautiful, and the hospitality and service are outstanding. We’ll definitely return. Thank you, Dirk & Christoph.
