Treedom Villas and Vardos

The property feels neglected, with plenty of wasted potential. The garden was dry, dusty, and uncared for, with no grass for kids to play on or adults to sit. Bedding was right next to a gas stove, which seemed like a fire hazard. Insects crawled out of the wooden structures while we washed dishes. Only one bed had been made for two people, and reaching it meant climbing steps, even though I’m 1.7m tall. Below it was an unmade black mattress in a dark, empty space, which felt unsettling. The outdoor “star-gazing bed” wasn’t made either. There were no refunds. You’d have to be very brave, or very intoxicated, to feel comfortable here. We booked after reading the positive reviews, but my experience was completely different, and I don’t recommend the place. We waited 17 minutes outside the gate before a barefoot caretaker arrived, speaking barely any English and riding a DIY scooter. Apparently that scooter is used to carry guests and luggage up and down the steep dirt hill to the wagons. Parking is at the gate in deep, loose dirt, basically a sandpit. It must turn into a mudslide when it rains. You can’t see your car from your unit, and getting to it is inconvenient and uncomfortable. At night the area is extremely dark, with lots of hidden corners that made it feel unsafe. This was more horror movie than holiday stay.

Absolutely gorgeous! I’d probably call it a three-star place. The hosts were lovely, and it was a very comfortable mountain escape. I can highly recommend the beautiful experience. Thank you 💜💜💜💜💜

If you love nature and freedom, this place is for you. The owners are amazing, helpful, and full of life. Getting there means taking a dirt road through the middle of nowhere and wondering where you’re headed, but then you arrive at a peaceful oasis. And a bonus, try their dinner courses. They’re fabulous.

We couldn’t be happier that we chose Treedom for our micro wedding. It’s a stunning, charming venue in a beautiful part of Wilderness, immersed in nature but still close enough to shops and restaurants. Debbie’s experience, built over 20+ years in the industry, really shows. She was helpful, accommodating, and collaborative throughout the planning. She understood our creative vision and brought it to life flawlessly, even better than we imagined. The decor, flowers, cake, catering, and photography were all stunning and beyond what we expected. Her passion and genuine love for her work come through completely. Marc, Debbie’s husband, also jumped in to help transport some of our guests to and from the venue during our stay, which took a huge weight off our shoulders. Debbie and Marc even offered to go into town for us if we needed it. Rafael, the property manager, was always ready to lend a hand with a smile, whether starting the bonfire or moving our bags from the car to our accommodation. We felt genuinely cared for by him and the entire Treedom team. Their warmth and kindness made things calm and stress-free, and we felt at ease knowing we were in safe hands. We’re truly grateful and had the time of our lives. Treedom is a wonderful choice for an enchanting, intimate outdoor wedding, or simply a nature-filled escape with unmatched hospitality.
