The rooms are clean and have everything you need. African and modern styles come together in a harmonious way that feels comfortable as soon as you walk in. What makes VicFalls Backpackers such a good choice around Livingstone is the calm, welcoming atmosphere and, above all, the amazing staff. From the 24-hour security guards to reception, bar, kitchen, gardening and housekeeping, everyone is kind, caring and keen to make your stay as good as possible. I always feel welcome, safe and well looked after. Absolutely recommend it.

The pool was great, and there were loads of places to sit, from hammocks and benches to couches and counters. The rooms and grounds were clean, too. Staff were so welcoming and helpful, and gave me plenty of ideas for things to explore nearby. I really enjoyed my stay.

The staff were amazing, and there was free drinking water. But there was no mosquito net or curtains, even though they were advertised, and the Wi-Fi only worked in a small outdoor area, not in the rooms. The kitchen could use more utensils, too. I was confused by the big wooden spoon on the keychain, and by the option to pay to volunteer and buy the image of helping.

You can walk to most shops from Victoria Falls Backpackers, since it’s right in the centre of town. There are also plenty of activities, and the place always feels lively. The pool is a welcome way to cool down in Livingstone’s heat. Great location.

It’s a decent backpackers, and Shoprite is close by if you need a snack. The staff are friendly, and the place gets cleaned regularly. Food is decent, though any food or drink order can take up to an hour. There’s a loud party next door every day, from around 16h00 until the early hours. Sometimes staff or people living on the property play social media loudly near the breakfast seating area early in the morning. The water doesn’t cut out often, but it has happened while I was showering, enough times to notice. It’d also be nice if the sheets actually fit the bed.
