ZigZag Town Lodge

The people here were so friendly, especially Manager Mercy, Gladys, Caroline, Chef Chris, and Moses. Mercy seemed to think of everything for us. The owner, Lynne, cares about the community, so staying here also helps local people. We had some of the best food of our trip. The restaurant serves fresh Western and local dishes, all prepared to a very good standard and at a good price. The chef could hold his own in a UK bistro pub. The gardens are well cared for, with a pool and loungers. Town is about a 15-minute walk, or a 25K taxi ride. The accommodation is simple, very clean, and comfortable, with good-sized showers. Loved it here!

The grounds are pleasant, a nice spot to sit around with a beer or tea, and the staff were the happiest group I've ever met. The rooms are basic but very clean. The food selection is limited, though the quality and portions are very good.

The attached restaurant serves a good range of dishes and stays open for plenty of hours. The rooms are on the small side and very basic, but clean and inexpensive. If you're looking for ritzy, spotless rooms with lots of space, this probably won't suit you. I prefer to keep a small eco footprint when I travel, so the simple setup worked for me. Lynne looks after local animals on the property and gets them ready for adoption, including vaccinations. You might hear dogs barking at odd hours, especially if elephants wander past outside. One or two friendly cats may be around the restaurant too, but please don't feed them. I found Zig Zag safe and cozy, with wonderful, dedicated staff and an owner who gives back to the community. The grounds are well maintained, and the gated security runs 24 hours, which felt reassuring. Everyone was welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. I'd love to come back, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

A lovely spot for a quiet Sunday afternoon. You can bring children, and there's a great playground, a children's pool, and an adult pool. There are places to sit both indoors and outside.
