Zinga Backpackers

The Zinga staff sorted out Zambezi Rafting, volunteering with orphans, and a 4:30 am transfer to Lusaka for us. Everything went perfectly. We stayed four nights, and the affordable local meals they cooked were delicious. There's also a nice local bar nearby with lovely people, plus some shops for drinks and food. The hosts were kind, helpful, and happy to talk about anything. We had a good time sharing our cultures with each other. The house and rooms were clean, and we could cook for ourselves since everything we needed was there. They could also make food for us. Thank you for the time we spent there.

The water was off for three days. The pool was full of water that looked about a year old, with millions of bugs in it. They canceled our tour without asking, then left us waiting in the sun for about an hour. We'd booked a full-day rafting trip but ended up with a half-day tour, and still don't know why. We couldn't get a refund. The staff member was very hard to find, and every time we saw him, he said he needed to speak with his boss. I wonder if that boss even exists. When we first arrived, the hostel was completely empty and we were the only guests. After all that happened, we understood why. There was at least one giant cockroach on our bed every day. This was the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. Airbnb said breakfast was included, but it wasn't. Zinga Backpackers is the worst accommodation I've ever experienced.

Avoid this place. The camp felt more like a building site than an operating accommodation, and the mattress in our chalet was as uncomfortable as sleeping on the floor. We were the only guests. After we'd paid, the owner told us there was no water anywhere in the complex, and we had no water for our entire stay.
