Jollyboys Backpackers

My dorm stay at Jollyboys Backpackers was fine for 10 nights, and the usual price of around $10-12 is reasonable. But one day the dorm was suddenly fully booked, so I had to pay $50 for a private room. It was tiny and basic, with no air conditioning and a shared bathroom. For that price, you can find much better places in Livingstone. If you’re staying in a dorm for a while, check availability carefully or compare other accommodation.

There’s a friendly feel here, lovely people to meet, and they put on nice evening activities. The swimming pool is beautiful, and for a small city like Livingstone, it’s a great option. The restaurant food could be better, especially since there aren’t any good restaurants nearby. The dorm facilities are a bit old, though the beds, showers, and the rest are generally good.

Great hostel in a convenient location. We had a private twin room with really nice air conditioning. The staff were super friendly and helped us book several excursions. There’s also a nice bar and snack food. I’d definitely recommend it.

So far, this has been the most social hostel I’ve stayed at in Africa, and the staff are very helpful. The facilities are great, the aircon is icy, and the bar is reasonably priced. I extended my stay a few times. Cheers!
