The rooms are spacious and clean, and the food is great. There’s a Victorian feel to the place, but the showers weren’t great, and some staff seemed untrained or unprofessional. It’s also pretty quiet, which might suit someone introverted. The TVs are old, though, and I found them hard to figure out. Some people may be fine with that, but a smart flat TV would be nice.

The barman treated us wonderfully, and customer service from him was great. Food prices felt too high for what we got, though, and the bar had no beers or other drinks. The food we ordered through room service took 45 minutes to arrive, and nobody collected the plates, so we had to take them over the next morning. The location is good, but the surroundings looked rough and need cleaning and maintenance.

Once we found it, we had a pleasant stay. The room was really nice and clean, and the cleaning crew did a good job. Getting there was confusing because the signs pointed to other names that didn’t seem related to the place.

It’s quiet here, so it’s a relaxing place. The bar shuts at 8:30pm, which seems to keep the bar crowd and its noise under control.

The staff were great with us, the surroundings were good, and the facilities were impressive. One of the best bed-and-breakfast places I’ve stayed at, and definitely a spot for a getaway.
