Breakfast stood out, especially Chef Massi’s vegetable omelette and the chicken sausage, which was the best I’d had in ages. The dining area is thoughtfully arranged and even has a Breville coffee machine. Anderson was easy to chat with when we arrived and again before leaving. Our room was roomy, with a comfortable bed, and there’s a pool. It’s a quiet B&B with a cozy, peaceful home feel.

The main drawback is the price: it feels high, especially since the rooms aren’t large. Heating the room and getting hot water both depend on electricity, and the backup systems don’t cover either one. Mount Pleasant itself is lovely and quiet, with plenty of greenery, and the place looks well maintained. There are rooms in different sizes and price ranges.

We got the Montrose Suite at the last minute, and it was huge, fully furnished, and had a really comfortable bed. The guest house is in Harare’s diplomatic district. Breakfast was generous and very good, and the staff were warm and welcoming. There’s also a pool, barbecue grills, and a proper wood-fired pizza oven, which I’m looking forward to trying next time. Strong recommendation, especially for budget travellers.

We spent a month here and enjoyed the whole stay. The rooms were clean, nicely presented, and clearly looked after. The hospitality was outstanding. I’d recommend the place without hesitation.
