York Lodge

We came from Thailand for work, and York Lodge quickly felt like home. The staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely kind from the moment we arrived. Their care and attention to detail made us feel respected and looked after in a way that felt more like family than a hotel. The service was beyond five stars. After long work days, our spotless, well-kept room was a welcome place to rest. The peaceful surroundings made it easy to unwind. The food was a highlight for us, as it has been for other guests we spoke with. Every meal tasted home-cooked and full of flavor, with real care behind it. Breakfast was a joy, and dinner felt like a warm hug at the end of the day. We’ve stayed in many places around the world, but York Lodge stands out for its comfort and service, and for the rare sense of soul it has. Whether you’re in Harare for work or rest, it’s more than just a place to stay. It’s a home away from home, and we didn’t want to leave.

A good place for a reasonable price, with that home away from home feeling. If you’re heading to Harare, I can’t recommend the property highly enough.

The gardens are lovely, the staff are friendly, and the rooms have a quaint English garden oasis feel. Whenever I’m in Harare, I stay here. Honestly, I wouldn’t choose anywhere else.

The garden is absolutely spectacular, and breakfast was good. The lodge is in a lovely, leafy residential area of Harare that felt safe, and the staff were very kind and attentive. On checkout day, they let us keep our room for the whole day at no extra cost. I felt that helped offset the higher price, especially for a three-star accommodation. The one issue was an unpleasant smell in our room (7), like smelly feet.
