The views of the Dam are the best part, and the staff are welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are run down, though, and some of the old buildings have huge cracks. They need to modernize the place, especially the toilets and bathtubs.

The setting and location are perfect, but the night lighting needs work. It's easy to end up in the pool or river in the dark. The food was terrible at both dinner and breakfast, and staff training, service, and staff dress all need attention. I had to cancel my other night because of all this.

The place has a very good atmosphere and welcoming service. The only downside is access if you're not driving: public transport from town drops you about 1.8km away, so getting a taxi would be best.

The rooms were clean, but they could use extra pillows or a blanket in case you get cold. There was no complimentary water or tea or coffee in the rooms, and reception needs someone more proactive. For the first two nights, the shower only had cold water and didn't drain properly, leaving the floor wet all night. Your feet get wet when you use the toilet. Breakfast only had sun jam for toast, and marmalade or another spread would have been nice.
