It’s about an hour from Bulawayo, so getting there takes a bit of a drive, but it was well worth it. This quiet, secluded spot in Matobo National Park is surrounded by lovely hills and rock formations. The service was excellent, the views were amazing, and the stargazing was incredible. I loved it even more than Victoria Falls.

TK made our outing memorable, with a rhino encounter and a visit to World's View. He knows his stuff and was so cheerful. He even carried my little man around, and the two of them were best mates almost straight away. What a legend, TK left a lasting impression on us. Our few nights here were peaceful and magical. Everything was immaculate, and the service team were welcoming and attentive. The chef deserves a big thank you for the outstanding meals and for being flexible with my little one, who can be a picky eater. The whole experience was worth every penny.

We didn’t have a booking when we arrived, but the friendly staff at the gate welcomed us, and a hands-on receptionist quickly arranged a lovely room for us. The next night, after we mentioned we were newlyweds, they offered us an even more beautiful honeymoon suite. The manager took time from her busy day to welcome us personally and share a drink, and to congratulate us. We came the day after our Bulawayo wedding in August 2022, after an easy drive of about two hours to Matobo Hills Lodge. Each day brought fresh, varied, delicious meals, with BnB breakfasts that hit the spot and friendly, attentive waiters. Ordering lunch was easy, and the billing was clear and straightforward. We relaxed by the evening fire beside the pool and took in the beautiful views day and night.

There’s plenty to explore around the well-kept lodge, including safari drives, rhino walks, and looking for leopards. We also visited the cave paintings and Worlds view, and everything was perfect. The staff were incredible, and the owner was lovely and happy to chat. What a spot!

The rhino walk was the standout for us: a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we saw six rhinos up close. Our game drive with TK was fantastic too; he was knowledgeable and passionate. Everyone on staff was welcoming and friendly, and made us feel right at home. We spent three amazing days at Matobo Hills Lodge. Its location inside Matobo National Park made it easy to reach the beautiful scenery and wildlife. We’d highly recommend staying here when visiting Matobo. It was unforgettable.
