Hotel Magic Pas by Nexta

The location of Hotel Màgic Pas is excellent for skiing, right in the center of Pas de la Casa and close to the slopes and shops. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the SPA was good, although access costs extra. Those positives weren't enough to make up for the problems, especially at the current price and with a 4 star rating. There were signs of water leakage from condensation or pipes, including drips, serious stains and damage under the window, and damp or mold like marks around the ceiling lamp. I have photos, and it seemed like an ongoing maintenance issue rather than a one off problem. The room felt damp and not well maintained. Getting to reception meant using a steep staircase with no lift alternative, which was awkward with ski equipment. The two small elevators were slow, didn't reach the basement ski lockers room, and one of them only started from floor 2. The self service breakfast and dinner also felt more like a school cafeteria or budget tour group than a 4 star hotel. The coffee machines couldn't make a proper cappuccino, the choices were limited in quality, and the atmosphere felt cheap. There was usually a sewage like smell in one corner of floor 7, where my room was. Housekeeping was inconsistent as well, and the water bottle often wasn't replaced after the room was serviced. Skiing in the Spanish Pyrenees, including Andorra, also feels overpriced compared with Italy or Switzerland, with similar or higher costs for passes, accommodation, and services, but less polished infrastructure, fewer luxury choices, and sometimes lower service standards. This seems common in the area and pushes some skiers toward the Alps for better value. I wouldn't recommend the hotel at this pricing and star rating unless budget and location matter more than comfort and maintenance. I hope management fixes these issues soon.
