We were really pleased with this bargain. I’d worried the good reviews were too good to be true, but the reception and housekeeping staff were lovely, and the negative reviews didn’t match our experience. We paid a little extra for a room with an outside window, since the internal rooms don’t have windows, and the small balcony had a lovely view. The spa was included, with fresh towels each visit, a small sauna, a hot jacuzzi, and a warm pool. You need to reserve a time at reception, and it was busy, so we started going around 7pm. Breakfast had lots of choice, made-to-order eggs, and good coffee. In the bar, we used our welcome drink token, sat by the fire, played cards, and had wine. We hired skis from Duna Blanca, about 15m from the hotel, and received a discount by saying we were staying at Grand Pas. Its tunnel connects to Soul Apres, giving easy access to the blue piste and the lifts and ski schools. Returning through the tunnel, we could walk quickly through the underground carpark to the boot room. Reception provided a locker key, and lift passes were also available there at the same price as elsewhere. The parking cost about 24€ per day. Level -1 was full, so we had to use -2, which was extremely difficult. We had been warned it was only suitable for very small cars, but tried anyway. It involved three-point turns on every corner, steep bends, and moments when two wheels were off the ground. Definitely only for a very confident small-car driver. We couldn’t have been happier and are glad we didn’t spend more somewhere else.

The hotel is in an ideal place for reaching the mountains in the morning, but the staff were the real highlight, especially housekeeping. Towels were replaced every day and supplies were always replenished. The Thursday magic show was brilliant. Mark, the magician’s name if I remember correctly, was great fun and completely amazed us. Meals were as fresh as possible, with buffet breakfast and dinner every day and lots of choice for starters, mains, and desserts. Highly recommended.

The room was very clean, comfortable, and cozy, and having extra pillows and blankets in the closet was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was also really good, with a wide range of choices for a ski lodge. Access to the slopes was very easy, and the front desk ladies in particular were amazing. It’s a great hotel.

Carolina at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. Our family of four had a comfortable room, with a separate bed for each of us. We also had both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, and the food was exceptional. The hotel makes skiing and exploring the town convenient. We rented sleds just down the street for 5Euro each. Highly recommended.

We returned to The Grand Pas for a second stay, partly because the restaurant and bar team are so good. Their service was especially helpful with my gluten-free diet. After only a day or two, they remembered it and asked which GF choices I wanted at each meal, without waiting for me to mention it. That kind of care made our family holiday even better. Amazing customer service from a brilliant team 👏
