Nelson’s Dockyard was such a beautiful base, with shops and restaurants close by and a wonderfully picturesque setting. We loved our week at Admiral’s Inn, and it really met our expectations. The staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to help. Our room in the Gunpowder Suites was spotless and comfortable, while the grounds were full of well-kept palms and flowers. The pool facilities were outstanding, and Galleon Beach was easy to reach by boat. We walked back from Pigeon Point Beach after taking a taxi there. Boom and Pillars were both terrific for food and location. One thing to note, the Gunpowder Side has steps, cobblestone paths, and some slopes, so it may be difficult for guests with mobility issues. We’d happily recommend this lovely hotel.

The historic surroundings are the main reason to book this place. The setting is absolutely stunning, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful too. Our only concern was the Loft. Because of the historic construction, the rooms seem to have very little soundproofing, so noise from the road and neighboring rooms carries easily.

We came for the day with two friends to have massages and use the pool, but the experience was terrible. Each of us paid $100 for a full body massage. Both of my friends were offered a shower before and after, while nobody offered me one. The pool host was rude from the moment we arrived. Pool access cost $90USD per person, which we agreed to pay, but when we asked for a towel, she rolled her eyes and said, "You didn't bring one?" Why would guests bring their own towels to a hotel pool, especially when paying $90 USD? I definitely wouldn't recommend spending money here with that kind of customer service.

The setting beside the marina is fantastic and full of history, which gives this boutique hotel a lot of character. I’d stay here again. Service can be extremely slow, and there were a few mistakes on the bill, though that’s apparently to be expected in Antigua.

This is a boutique hotel with genuinely friendly staff, and that’s exactly what makes it appealing. It isn’t a massive all inclusive resort and doesn’t try to be one. Anyone looking for a dubai style mega hotel should stay somewhere else, but this is a great choice if you want something smaller and more personal.
