Hotel Relax Dhermi

The location made it easy to explore the area, and the beach wasn't far away. My room was spotless and comfortable, and breakfast offered lots of tasty choices. The staff were warm from the start and the service stayed excellent throughout. I had a fantastic stay and would happily return.

Hotel Relax in Dhërmi was peaceful and ideally placed near the beach and main restaurants. The sea view from our very clean, comfortable room was stunning. The pool was clean and enjoyable, and breakfast was both plentiful and delicious. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly and ready to help. I had an amazing experience and will definitely come back, I highly recommend it.

The mountain and sea views from the pool are beautiful, and for me this was a better choice than the crowded, very expensive hotels by the beach. You do need a car to get around. We stayed for five days in June and arrived very late, but the hotel had no problem with the late check-in. All the staff were wonderful, especially the man whose name I unfortunately don't remember. While we were at the pool, he noticed we had no towels and brought us two without being asked or charging extra. The flies and bees around the pool didn't bother me. It's a warm country, and naturally a few can fall in during the day. Early in the morning the pool is clean, and there's really no drama about it. I can't recommend this hotel enough.

We booked three rooms and felt very unsafe from the moment we arrived. They wanted to keep one of our five passports, the only woman's in the group, claiming this was normal procedure in Albania. That is not true. After we objected, they tried to add 75€ in local taxes even though our reservation said taxes were included, and insisted on cash. Fortunately we didn't have enough, so we paid by credit card and have proof. The bathrooms were disgusting: dirty toilets, toothpaste left in the sink, a blocked shower drain, and hair on the floor. We had been inside for only 10 minutes when we asked for our 1.045€ back. They refused, then claimed we had made the mess ourselves after seeing the photos. We contacted Booking, and the plataform is dealing with the case because the hotel says it won't refund us. We eventually booked somewhere else, where they said this was unbelievable and not a policy in Albania. The staff were really dishonest and seemed determined to keep our money. I can only imagine the hygiene of the breakfast/kitchen if the rooms were like this. Please be careful and read the other comments, especially on google. If we'd checked them first, we never would have booked here.
