Soleil Resort is acceptable overall, but it feels run down and needs renovation. The staff seem attentive on the surface, although customer complaints are not really taken seriously. We repeatedly reported that guests were reserving large sections of the beach for days, leaving limited access for everyone else. Management reassured us several times but never took action, and that lack of responsibility made the experience more frustrating.

SOLEIL Village & Villas in Jale Beach charges over €400 per night, but our stay felt like an overpriced motel rather than beachfront luxury. The polished photos suggested a high-end resort, yet the service, comfort, and quality did not match the price. Three weeks before arrival, we booked with a credit card and received confirmation. Then, the night before check-in, they called in a panic to say the card had not gone through and the reservation might be canceled. They had waited until the last moment to process it, so we had to send another card and complete forms just to keep the booking. Our suite was advertised as the best, but it sat on a steep hill above three flights of stairs. The website never mentioned this, and with knee and back problems, getting there was agony. We asked to change rooms and accept a downgrade, but had to wait three nights. The replacement was easier to reach, though its door lock was broken, the A/C was weak, and it had even less charm. Soleil is basically the budget annex beside the adults-only Folie Marine. Our premium suite was filled with Folie-branded items, but the room service menu could not be used because its number belonged to Folie Marine. Soleil staff eventually gave us another number, which made it clear that the guest experience was an afterthought. There was no room service, and almost everything involved a steep walk. The supposed village atmosphere felt more like a poor hillside neighborhood than a luxury Ionian retreat. The beach was disappointing too. Sunbeds were packed together, the umbrellas were too small for proper shade in the heat, and the towels were old and worn. The beach staff were friendly, although that may have had more to do with our generous tips than the hotel’s standards. On Sunday night, Folie Marine held a party next door until at least 5 a.m. The bass came through our room even with earplugs, so our family got no rest. Laundry cost €12 for a shirt and €4 for underwear. Even getting a bottle of water meant making a trek. Breakfast was the same limited buffet every day, and management was completely invisible. Reception staff were polite, but the hotel still delivered motel standards at resort prices, with last-minute billing chaos, no warnings about steep hills or the lack of an elevator, misleading room service information, overpriced laundry, crowded beach seating, tiny umbrellas, old towels, and all-night noise. For comfort, service, and basic hospitality, book elsewhere. You have been warned.

I’ve been coming here for 8 years and still love the place. The sea is wonderful, and the garden is ideal for families. The restaurant staff are all nice and helpful, the food is good, and everything is kept clean and well cared for. My concern is the price, which has risen by about 80%-100% or more for the same rooms, with nothing new added. The toilets still feel like 2012, and the showers are bad.

The staff made this stay feel personal, from the warm professional welcome at check-in to the constant smiles and helpful attitude. The concierge team knew the local area well and went out of their way with restaurant recommendations and transport arrangements. Housekeeping was equally reliable, keeping my room spotless and responding courteously to special requests. I felt like a valued guest rather than just another traveler, and the team’s dedication made me feel at home. I highly recommend [Hotel Name] for outstanding service and hospitality.

The rooms are cleaned every day, with Wi-Fi working both in the rooms and on the beach. Soleil Village is a convenient choice for family or friends, with rooms close enough to the sea that fetching something is easy. Breakfast is delicious and well served, and the restaurant meals are excellent, though prices range from normal to expensive. Beach towels are provided fresh each day. One thing to know is that staff make you pay for the sunbeds on the first day, while they’re included in the price afterward. Thank you.
