Ambassador Skyline Apartments

I loved the freestanding bathtub by the window, it made for a relaxing stay. The big window also brought in lots of natural light and an amazing city view. The modern, stylish design has green-toned walls that feel cozy and refreshing, and the black mesh divider keeps the space open. Everything was clean and well maintained, the bed was comfortable, and the layout felt well organized. Highly recommend if you want somewhere comfortable and chic!

Everything’s within walking distance from this apartment, and it’s very clean, modern, and comfortable. Communication with the host was easy. Great stay, highly recommend!

I can’t recommend this place. Earlier this year we stayed at Herin Apartments in Tirana for half the price, and the quality wasn’t remotely comparable. This place looks luxurious but is very poor quality and definitely not worth the cost. We’d been looking forward to our one night at Ambassador Skyline Apartments. A nice woman showed us around on Sunday evening, handed over the keys, and took 97 Euros per night. It was the most expensive and the worst of the six places we stayed in Albania. Given the rating and price, we expected more. I’m happy to pay for quality, but there wasn’t any here. There were a couple of positives: the apartment is on the 21st floor with a beautiful city view, and the location is good, with lots of bars nearby and an 18 minute walk to the centre. That’s about it. The air conditioner was very noisy and made it hard to sleep. The bathtub looks inviting in the photos, but it only fits one person, not even two smaller people, and there’s only enough hot water for one bath. The bed creaked loudly with every movement. After a hot bath and cold shower, we were left trying to sleep in a warm room on that creaky bed. We arrived at 6pm and the woman briefly explained everything and took the cash. After she left, we turned on the air conditioning and found it far too loud to sleep with. We contacted her. She apologized and offered another accommodation 15 minutes away with a transfer, but we were already downtown sightseeing. With a flight home the next morning, moving somewhere else at night was the last thing we wanted. We asked for a discount, and they offered 20 Euros, to be collected in cash from the Choos Balkans office. We were also surprised when they asked us to cancel the reservation in the Booking.com system, saying they would confirm it. It only occurred to me that night that perhaps this was because we couldn’t then leave a Booking review. We walked around the city and got back to the apartment at 11pm. When we started filling the tub, water ran out onto the floor for a few seconds, probably because the cleaning lady had moved it. The apartment contacted us right away to say water was leaking below into the apartment, and they apologized for the situation. The tub was small enough for one person, so the other had to wait. There wasn’t enough hot water for a second bath, and my boyfriend had to shower in cold water. After the warm bath and cold shower, we tried to go to bed, but it creaked with every movement. In the morning, we contacted the landlord. He said he’d fix everything and that nobody before us had this problem. I doubt the bed only started creaking when we arrived, or that the bathtub had shrunk, the hot water capacity had shrunk, and the air conditioner had only just started humming. This was the place I’d looked forward to most, and it turned out to be the worst. It wasn’t worth the money. Looking closely at the Google reviews, I noticed that most reviewers seem to be locals who rate the same businesses: Choose Balkans - Albania Tour Operator, the company operating this apartment; Moonlight Apartments, their second apartment; Retreat Apartments, also operated by Choose Balkans; and Local Food Experience & Walking tour of Tirana, which is at the same address as Choose Balkans. Interesting. One batch of reviews is from three weeks ago and another from a year ago. In my opinion, these reviews aren’t credible and are fake. The only real review, in my opinion, is a one star review from a year ago written in French.
