Hotel international

Construction across from the windows meant lots of dust. There was nowhere to hang towels, the electrical outlets were all weak, payment for every day was demanded upfront, and the pillows were uncomfortable. My first night was awful. I couldn’t sleep because strange insects kept biting me. I saw a couple, filmed them, and killed one. From the photos and descriptions online, I thought they might be fleas, since they jumped and were hard to squash. I called the receptionist, but they insisted they were only gnats and said I shouldn’t be afraid, even if they were biting me. The next morning I asked again to move rooms, but none were available. We requested a refund for the remaining four days so we could go elsewhere and get a decent night’s sleep. The receptionist spoke to the owner, then said a refund was impossible because the room was already booked and couldn’t be cancelled. Obviously, he just didn’t want to lose money. The receptionist also tried to say I was just looking for an excuse to leave because I didn’t like the room. Even if that were true, I have every right to leave. My arms and legs had been bitten in that room, they were terribly itchy, and I was scared of the insects. After an hour of arguing, they still wouldn’t refund us. We reached a “common” solution they would accept: they would poison the room, and we’d wait outside while they did it. Afterward, we didn’t see anything or get bitten again, but staying there had already become unpleasant and uncomfortable. My vacation was ruined from the first day, and I came away with a poor impression of the hotel.

It’s fairly far from the city center, though shuttle bus 26 makes it easy to get around. The airport is relatively close and inexpensive to reach by taxi. This is a nice little hotel in a quiet area, with friendly staff and clean rooms furnished with new fittings and furniture. The shared kitchen has what you need, including dishes, a kettle, stove, microwave, and washing machine.

I stayed here for a month. The price was the lowest in Yerevan, and it suited a long stay, with a kitchen, stove, and washing machine. The hallway soundproofing is poor, although I rarely heard anyone. There’s also carpet in the rooms that can’t be cleaned.

A good, inexpensive stopover. We slept well, and they gave us coffee in the morning. There’s a washing machine, too.
