Bellevue

My parents remembered this place from when they were kids, when a really lovely woman ran it, so our whole group was excited to visit. We knew there was a time limit for ordering and eating, but still felt like our large group was a nuisance the whole time. The young man and woman serving our food were quick, sweet, and nice. The man who took our order seemed bothered by everything. Hopefully the new owner learns to be kinder. You can get a sense of how he'll treat you from his replies to earlier reviews. Maybe just come for the view.

The garden is magnificent and the views are amazing, though you have to wait and leave your table after 45 minutes. The food was nice, and the cakes and tea were good. The coffee wasn't.

It's a bit of a challenge to get there along the dirt road, but the trip is worth it. This was the coziest tea house I've visited, with a spectacular, warm view. The menu is limited, but everything they serve is made perfectly. Their scones are especially soft and warm, with a smooth, buttery middle. I'd go every day if I could.

Update: Five years ago I gave this place 5 stars after enjoying great coffee and food and a spectacular view. After our latest visit, we won't be coming back. The food quality is awful now, and the owners don't treat their patrons well. Without the view, I don't think this place would stay in business.
