Hotel Pacífico

Excellent hotel!

The location is really good, and the breakfast was decent, though there were lots of sweet things and no fruit or savory options. The rooms are old, the bedding is very worn, and the cleaning in the rooms wasn’t good. Staff were attentive, but there weren’t enough of them for a hotel this size. The reception fireplace was never lit, and using the pool table cost extra. Wi-Fi was poor and only worked in reception. When we arrived at 9 p.m. to check in, there were no rooms available, even though we’d reserved and paid 30% in advance. They put us in a hotel next door, then had a room for us the next day.

The good service, location, and breakfast earn the stars here. The double room had two single beds, so you ended up sleeping on one half; it was uneven and gave me back pain. The view was only of buildings, and the windows let in all the street noise. Sleeping was a nightmare, and we woke up to the street chaos. The bathroom had no ventilation, and the hairdryer didn’t work. The hotel has a lot of outdated things, but that old television was a real shame. They should invest in a better one.

The staff get five stars from me, and the location is very good. Breakfast is basic but adequate, and the cleaning is basic but acceptable if you don’t look under the beds. In the bathroom, the curtains are falling down, there’s nowhere to hang towels, the toilet is broken, and there are holes in the ceiling. At checkout, they used an “official” exchange rate that was much higher than the actual official rate. It felt like they were ripping us off. I won’t come back. It’s a shame, given the poor quality of service from the kitchen and reception staff.
