Quime Quipan Hotel

Truly awful. Avoid at all costs!

The rooms were comfortable, the place itself was pleasant, and everyone was friendly. But basic things were missing. There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms, even the shared one by the kitchen downstairs, so you had to ask reception for it. I get that people might take it, but there are ways to prevent that. Toiletries were just soap. I don't use the other stuff, but the shampoo and brush they didn't provide stood out. Breakfast was a letdown too: one croissant per person and some bread. I've stayed at plenty of hotels and never seen that, especially in a place as competitive for tourism as Bariloche. People I spoke to at other hotels of this type got those items free. And the juice wasn't fresh, it was Tang orange drink, which was a real disappointment.

The staff were attentive, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Still, there were a lot of problems. The radiators were off when we arrived, and the room felt like a freezer. We waited three hours for cleaning staff to get them working. One of the cabins also leaked. You have to specifically ask staff to clean the room fully each day, or they won't do it. Breakfast was one awful croissant per person and toast with cheese on bread that seemed to be leftovers. The American breakfast shown on their social media wasn't what they served at all. Anything extra at breakfast costs more, too. The TV channels seemed pirated, and the picture worked for about five minutes before it started acting up.

We went with Amcabi. The hotel was in nice shape and the staff were attentive. Meals were reasonable for the price, though the portions weren't especially generous. It's around 15 blocks from the city center, and a DiDi or Uber ride costs $3,000.
