The apartments are roomy, clean, and come with a well-equipped kitchen. We ate at the restaurant on site and found it tasty and good value. There’s real potential here, but some basic things need attention. Getting around on foot was unpleasant. The route to the ski area crosses a muddy, potholed car park with packed snow that nearly made me fall, then a dangerous road where coaches speed by. The path to the spa is muddy too. The slopes view and access are also spoiled by a barbed wire fence with concrete posts, something I didn’t see at nearby properties. The gym has very little equipment, and what’s there feels flimsy. The warm pool is often crowded and too small for a proper swim. Service varied. In the bedroom, there was a bath with no plug that fit it, and we could hear other rooms’ wastewater running through its pipes at night. Since the apartment had another bath, this one seemed unnecessary.

Everything is handled virtually, since there’s no reception desk. Before arrival, they send you a code in the Forze app that gives access to everything. The apartment is part of the hotel, right at the base of Cerro Catedral, and you can use the spa. It’s quiet and feels safe.

We wanted to leave and switch hotels, but they wouldn’t refund us. It felt like being held hostage. The room gets cleaned, but the dishes aren’t washed. There isn’t even a dishwasher, just a sponge, and you’re left to deal with it yourself. If you’re on vacation and don’t want to wash up for a few days, they charge extra for that service. The bed was awful, with a completely worn-out mattress that felt like sleeping on the springs. After we complained, they moved us, but the heat in the new room was stuck at 35 degrees Celsius and couldn’t be adjusted. We spent a whole day waiting for a fix, and were told to leave the windows open. The hard, pilled pillows hurt our ears after about 20 minutes, so we went downtown to buy our own despite paying for a 4-star hotel. Dinner was just as disappointing. The milanesa was tough and seemed old, the meat was black, and the flan had no taste. The only two ice cream flavors were awful and incredibly expensive, more than at the best steakhouse in Bariloche. Breakfast was terrible too: a drink that tasted worse than it looked, croissants like poorly baked gas station pastries, and cold coffee. We gave up and bought groceries to eat in our room. They charge and sell this as a 4-star hotel, but it’s nowhere near that standard. Absolute disappointment!

The worst stay of my 50 years. We paid $5,600 for this ordeal, and when we checked out they kept us waiting in reception while an employee searched the room for who knows what. Did they think we’d take a fork or plate? Pathetic. If you want a miserable time at a huge cost, stay at Village Condo. We went with family from July 17th to July 25th. At USD 700 a night, the price for what you get is a rip-off. The mattresses and pillows were falling apart, with springs digging into our backs. They couldn’t solve the problem, so we bought pillows downtown. Since we’d paid for the full stay, they wouldn’t refund us so we could move hotels. The heat couldn’t be controlled, and their answer was to open the windows. We slept with them open in the middle of July. We only ate breakfast there once. It was sparse and poor quality, with cold coffee, badly baked croissants and pastries like something from a gas station, plus orange juice that was just water with orange coloring. The rest of the time we bought groceries and ate in our room. Our first night’s dinner was also terrible and exorbitantly priced. Dessert was two tiny scoops of chocolate and strawberry ice cream for $15,000, so awful even the kids couldn’t finish it. The flan tasted of nothing, and the cream had a terrible color and flavor. The quality is dreadful, yet they charge more than the best restaurant in Bariloche. If you want to feel mistreated and pay a fortune, this is the place.

The facilities are run down, breakfast is a joke, and there’s no reception. The guests seemed very low-class to me. I wouldn’t recommend it.
