Hotel Club Frances

The restaurant feels dated and the food is basic. It does the job, but Buenos Aires has plenty of much better options. It's sad to see such a grand structure looking so diminished when it could be a jewel of bs as. It needs investment and promotion. The waiters and staff, though, did a great job.

After ten days away in the South, we came back and the staff recognized us and welcomed us warmly. That kind of kindness was there from the moment we first arrived at Hotel Club Frances, where everyone worked hard to make us comfortable. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and el desayuno was a delight. We adored the staff and hope to return one day.

The rooms are comfortable and lovely, and the little romantic restaurant is especially nice. The service felt personal, and the location is very convenient. If you want to experience the REAL Beunos Aires, this is a great place to look.

The French restaurant downstairs was a real highlight, especially the duck and pumpkin soup, and breakfast was very good too. You can order some things made to your taste, and it's served in a glass-enclosed marble patio. The staff were helpful, the location was great, and the rate was affordable. My wife and I stayed five nights in this older hotel, whose decor is beautifully French, and the rooms are pleasantly spacious. There are upkeep issues. The hallways need better lighting, the stains on the elevator ceiling, artwork, walls, and carpets need cleaning, and the hallway trim has cracks. More concerning, there was a faint smell that seemed like mold or a small sewage leak, especially by the elevators and on floors 2, 3, and 4. If smells don't bother you, you might not notice it. Our room and the restaurant were fine, but we eventually switched hotels. We'd come back if these maintenance problems were taken care of.
