The hotel feels like a budget option, especially with such a basic breakfast, but I enjoyed staying here. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms, though old, were clean with comfortable beds. It still has some of its old-time charm in the elevator and the room layout around a central patio, even if its grand days are clearly behind it.

The breakfast wasn't that great, at least by European standards. Still, at 30 dollars a night this was a great place to stay in Buenos Aires. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and there was a huge patio, though the interior felt a little old. It's centrally located, close to the presidential palace and a subway station for getting around.

Gran Hotel Hispano never replied to my reconfirmation on January 12th, or to either of my follow-up messages on January 14th and 15th, 2020. I'd booked in August 2019 for February 7 to February 9, 2020, and they confirmed the booking that same day, asking me to reconfirm three weeks before the stay. I agreed right away. This is unacceptable behavior for a serious hotel.
